Bugs

Beckett and some kids from across the street are playing.  A little roly-poly bug walks by.  I tell one kid and then Beckett comes up.
Beckett: "What's that?"
Me: "A roly-poly bug."
Beckett: "That's horrible."  And then walks away.

Fact Stating

Paige, upon heading out the door to school this morning, stops in front of a mirror and says in a very matter-of-fact voice: "I am ridiculously cute today."

Toes

Beckett is sitting and eating his lunch when he says: "My toes are provoking me!"

What are YOU made out of?

Beckett, looking at his toes: "What are my toes made out of?"
Mom: "Carbon."
Beckett: "What are my legs made out of?"
Mom: "Carbon.  All of you is made out of carbon."
Beckett: "Not plastic?"
Mom: "NO! Not plastic!"
Beckett: "What's my face made out of?"
Mom: "Carbon."
Beckett: "NO IT'S NOT! IT'S MADE OUT OF PLASTIC!"

Names

Beckett: "Where's Daddy?"
Mom: "At work."
Beckett: "Mike's at work."
Mom: "What's Daddy's name?"
Beckett: "Mike!"
Mom: "What's Mommy's name?"
Beckett: "Mommy!"
Mom: "What's Beckett's name?"
Beckett: " Beckett!"
Mom: "What's Paige's name?"
Beckett: "(pauses and thinks)Paige's name is Pretty Awesome!"

Consequence

Dad: "Paige, are you ready for school?"
Paige: "Yes!"
Beckett: "When I stick my finger in my nose, blood comes out!"

We should talk to our kids more

Mom: "Hey darling, I just found out today is Stake Conference (when the local congregations meet together instead of a regular Sunday service), so today we'll go to church in a different building."
Paige (excited): "Is that at the Jewish church?"
